Federated trust and control

There is a relation between control and trust, concerning the federated containers idea. One of the main problems of federated, piped containers is the one of “broken pipes”, as in “broken links” on the web of today.

Who guarantees that the “foreign” container you placed on your page will still live in a year? Or give the same/better fitting content? Do I have to control all container sources if I want to build a federated net of those?

Or will there be time stamps, like those links within GitHub, where you can refer to a piece of code from a different repo, and it will stay the same because it refers to content in time?

Is there any other, better solution?
